Senior Copywriter of Customer Service UX for macys.com
August 2019-March 2020

I helped develop content and tools for the macys.com website and app to help elevate the customer experience. Highlights include:

  • Led the process of establishing style guidelines to be incorporated across the website and app. Resulted in the development of a go-to comprehensive style guide.

  • Took the lead on overhauling 100+ macys.com FAQ articles by updating information to reflect current experiences, consolidating redundant articles, and writing new articles. Resulted in a 10% decrease of calls to the Customer Service Center during the 2019 holiday season time period.

In my most recent role with RH, I co-managed and led a team of eight contract copy editors in editing/proofreading all Interiors, Modern, Outdoor, Teen, Baby & Child, and Contract catalogs. Highlights from both RH stints include:

  • Revamped and maintained copy style guides, and set up all necessary Google Doc reference documents. Resulted in solid go-to reference resources that the editing team used on a daily basis.

  • Co-managed copy for the 610-page 2011 RH Source Book launch. Resulted in catalog becoming the prototype for all RH source books that are still being produced to this day.

  • Created contextual content and curating over 80 published Houzz Marketplace online interior design idea books.

  • Rewrote all item descriptions for the Zenni website to ensure greater consistency and brand voice adherence.

  • Provided content for the SkyMall omni-channel experience, including the in-flight magazine, website, and social media platforms.

I led a team of 13 copywriters in developing engaging and effective product description pages and digital marketing campaigns, helping the company surpass plans at every level and contributing to successful 2016 and 2017 fiscal years. Highlights include:

  • Rebranded Member’s Mark (Sam’s Club private brand) as the high-quality yet affordable option for members. Resulted in increased product page performance, brand-focused landing pages, and successful marketing campaigns.

  • Developed style guidelines for 40+ product categories. Resulted in an extensive style guide that was published as a go-to reference for both the copy team and merchant partners.

Sports Authority

Copy Manager of Print, Broadcast & Digital Media     
October 2011 – November 2013

I led a team of eight copywriters in creating brand-relevant copy across all media including online (home page and landing pages), digital marketing, consumer catalogs and direct mail pieces, newspaper inserts, radio ads, in-store messaging, community marketing, and more. Highlights include:

  • Conceptualized and developed the brand voice for "The League", Sports Authority's loyalty program that launched in 2012. Resulted in a highly successful launch and surpassed all 2012 and 2013 new membership and engagement goals.

  • Led the copy team in developing detailed copy guidelines. Resulted in production of a go-to omni-channel copy style guide, the first resource of its kind for the company.

Macy’s, Inc.

Editing Manager, Macy's West Division (July 2006 – May 2009)

I oversaw the copy editing functions, supervised and mentored five copy editors, and partnered with copy managers in directing copy staffs. Highlights include:

  • Developed copy style guidelines , resulting in the production of two editions of in-house copy style resource guides.

Senior Editing Manager, Macy's Central Home (July 2004 – June 2006)

I trained and developed a team of four copy editors and helped direct a team of more than 19 copywriters. Highlights include:

  • Served as the MCH copy liaison to all six divisions of Macy’s and developed a process by which home-specific copy would be produced for the divisions. Resulted in establishment of strong division relationships and timely asset delivery.
